Our Bishop

Bishop Samuel L. Massenburg Jr., is the Establishmentarian and Senior Pastor of Temple of Deliverance in Richmond, VA. Bishop Massenburg was born in Hampton Virginia to Evangelist Pamela and Deacon Samuel L. Massenburg Sr., and he is the eldest of six siblings. 

Bishop Samuel L. Massenburg Jr. began his ministry career at the tender age of eighteen. Bishop Massenburg was licensed to preach the gospel by Overseer Zachary Taylor of Word of Life Full Gospel Ministries. Shortly after, at the age of twenty-four Overseer Taylor ordained then, Minister Massenburg to the position of Elder. His ministry career is extensive, and he has served in numerous ministry capacities within Word of Life.

Bishop Massenburg's educational accomplishments include: recently graduating in May 2022 from the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University with a conferred Masters of Divinity degree. In 2017, Bishop Massenburg graduated from Bryant & Stratton College with Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and General Management. He is also a graduate of Varina High School, located in Henrico County. 

Bishop Massenburg serves as the First Assistant to Overseer Taylor in the South Central District of Virginia within the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship under the leadership of International Presiding Bishop Joseph W. Walker, and currently serves as the Bishop of Protocol for Kingdom Empowerment International Fellowship of Churches, under the leadership of Apostle Robbie C. Peters. 

In November 2020, Bishop Massenburg was officially installed as Senior Pastor of Broken Bread Ministries, and in November 2021, while celebrating his First Anniversary as Senior Pastor, Apostle Robbie C. Peters appointed then Pastor Massenburg to the office of Bishop-Designate within the Lord's Church. After much prayer and fasting, the Lord led Bishop-Designate Massenburg to establish Temple of Deliverance of Richmond, Virginia, on March 9, 2022. In July 2022, Bishop Massenburg became a duly consecrated Bishop in the Lord’s Church by Apostle Robbie C. Peters and the Kingdom Empowerment International Covenant Fellowship of Churches.

Bishop Massenburg is married to Pastor Zeborah Massenburg, and they are blessed with one daughter, Sanai Massenburg.
